Richard trained in a variety of dance styles from a young age. After graduating from the Centre for Advanced Training scheme, Richard attended the London Contemporary Dance School at The Place. During his time at The Place, Richard worked with choreographers such as James Cousins, Wayne Parsons and Tom Roden where he graduated with First Class Honours. Richard went on to further full-time training at Purchase College New York in Ballet and Contemporary.

Richard has performed nationally and internationally with James Cousins, Jose Limon Festival NYC, Studio Wayne McGregor, Lea Anderson, Russel Maliphant Co, Rosemary Lee, Tim Casson, Stefano Poda, Gareth Chambers and more. Richard has also worked with Live Art, Fashion and Film collaborations with artists such as visual Artist Afra Zamara, Sculpture Artist Eva Rothschild (where work was exhibited in the Venice Biennale), Movement Director Imogen Knight, and Poet James Massiah.
Richard has created work for both stage and screen. From dance films, to Music videos for Jon Bringwolves, Casswell and Juri Xi. He has also Directed large scale community works including the Commonwealth Baton Relay Closing Ceremony Ipswich, The Boys and numerous works for Kickstart Company for which he used to be Artistic Director. Richard has also worked as a Movement Director for publications such as Vogue Italia and Gay Times and for brands such as Selfridges, Ice Watch and Stonewall.
Richard is a PEER artist at Studio Wayne McGregor, an associate artist at Elevate East, supported by Rich Mix and currently sits on the Board of Directors at Danceeast, undertaking the role of Diversity Champion.
